Google on Wednesday pushed out a minor update for its Gmail app for Android, which brings several small but useful features for users, and bumps the version number up to v5.2.

Users after the update will be able to tap on other users' avatars to view their recent conversations with them along with the users' contact information. The update also makes it easier to open multiple Gmail accounts and brings improved support for non-Gmail IMAP addresses.

Also new in the Gmail app for Android is that when users add a new email ID, it takes takes over the full screen instead of a dialogue box hovering over the navigation drawer as seen before.

A teardown by Android Police also reveals that users may soon also get the option to add vacation responders to their Exchange Accounts. The option would send automated pre-written reply to users who send a mail. Gmail's Unsubscribe feature is also said to be coming soon.

On further teardown it has been found that Unsubscribe feature is created to prevent spam or other annoying emails. The process begins with conventional method of removing an account from the subscription. However, if any problems are faced, Gmail will take aggressive steps to eliminate the desired mails. The option is said to be visible in the overflow menu of the conversation view.

The updated app will reach Google Play in different regions eventually. However users can also manually install the app's Google-signed apk file and install it via Android Police.

In March, Google launched a new Gmail feature that lets users view emails from all their integrated email IDs in a single place. The feature is not limited only to Gmail IDs, and includes Yahoo and Outlook-based IMAP and POP accounts as well. The new feature is accessible through a tab called 'All Inboxes'.
