  • VLC, the popular open-source media player, has just announced the release of VLC 2.0 "Twoflower" for all platforms.
VLC, the popular open-source media player, has just announced the release of VLC 2.0 "Twoflower" for all platforms.

Major new features include:

  • Faster decoding on multi-core, GPU and mobile hardware i.e. smoother playback on most new hardware.
  • Support for new codecs - 10bits codecs, WMV image and others.
  • Experimental support for BluRay discs.
  • Completely reworked Mac and Web interfaces.
  • Higher quality subtitles.
  • New video filters.
VLC 2.0 is now available for download for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS from the VLC website.
