Gmail down again in India with 502 error, Play Store affected as well

Google's Gmail and Play Store were down in India yet again Wednesday afternoon IST, with the infamous 502 error.

Twitter was abuzz with users complaining that Gmail is down around 1PM IST, though Google's own App Status Dashboard continued to report all Google services are running as expected as of filing this report. However, as per user complaints, and our own experience, both services continue to be disrupted.

(Update: As 1:15PM IST, the services seems to be back up, but we are monitoring the situation and user feedback)

Gmail and indeed Play Store outages have become a rather familiar sight, especially in India, with a major disruption occurring almost every month, and other minor outages interspersed in between.
