Western Digital on Wednesday has introduced two new My Passport external hard drives - the My Passport Ultra Metal Edition, and My Passport Ultra Anniversary Edition.
The 1TB and 2TB My Passport Ultra Metal Edition hard drives have been given suggested retail prices of Rs. 6,500 and Rs. 11,000 respectively. The company has not yet detailed pricing for the My Passport Ultra Anniversary Edition, but has said that it is anticipated to be available in India in limited quantities by the end of September.
Both the My Passport external hard drives include metal exteriors and incorporate a radial-spin-design aluminium enclosure, which WD claims will provide 'extra protection against the everyday knocks.' Additionally, both the drives offer hardware encryption and password protection. Both drives come with regional 3-year limited warranty.
The My Passport Ultra Metal Edition drive also includes WD SmartWare Pro software with Dropbox integration for data backup.

Previously, Western Digital had announced the India-launch of its Wi-Fi-enabled media player called WD TV Personal Edition.
