Android Users Are Working Class Flirts, iPhone Users Do More Drugs: Survey
Does the phone you carry tell tales about your personality? That's what a new survey seems to suggest, with findings that say that Android users are more likely to take the first steps in getting a date, while iPhone users are more educated.

The survey, carried out by American online dating website AYI.com (Are You Interested?) used the site's dating records to find out if a person's phone had an effect on their love life. And according to the site, Apple users are contacted 17 percent more often than Android users.

To get this data, the site looked at 2.4 million mobile app downloads in the United States, across platforms, and examined nearly 20 million interactions between users. Of course, given that this is self-submitted data given to a dating site, it's not verified information and can't be seen as a scientific study.

Still, there is a lot of information that the site collects, thanks to which they've earlier carried out similar surveys on the impact of things like ethnicity, income and even height on their dating success, so the findings are interesting, even if they need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Some of the findings, according to the site, were:

  • iOS users were contacted 17 percent more often than Android users.
  • Android users were 12 percent more likely than iOS users to contact someone on the site.
  • Only 27 percent of iOS users are females, while 33 percent of Android users are females.
  • 42 percent of Android useres were between 45-60 years of age, while 67 percent of iOS users were under 45.
  • Android users were 30 percent more likely than iOS users to earn under $60,000 per year, with 83 percent of iOS users earning over $150,000.
  • iOS users were twice as likely to have a Master's degree, and 55 percent more likely to have a Bachelor's degree than Android users.
  • Interestingly, iOS users were more likely to drink and do drugs - but also exercise more often, than Android users.
