While HTC's current flagship, the One (M8), received Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS update last month, its rumoured One (M9) flagship version is already in the news along with its purported specifications. An HTC One (M9) variant, the HTC One (M9) Prime, also made an appearance in the same leak.

The rumoured HTC One (M9) smartphone, according to the purported specifications, seems to be a well-endowed handset with a 5.5-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 64GB/ 128GB inbuilt storage, 3GB of RAM, and a 3500mAh battery - notably of course, these specifications are in-line with current flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Google Nexus 6.

The leak by MyDrivers (via Phonearena) also mention the One (M9) to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and feature a 16-megapixel rear camera, which indicates that HTC might not carry its UltraPixel technology, which was last seen in both One (M7) and One (M8) flagships.

HTC's handsets in the past have featured BoomSound audio technology and formerly Beats audio tech, might level up the overall music experience on the One (M9) by collaborating with a popular audio brand, Bose. Also rumoured is the use of aluminium silicon-carbide composite for the handset body.

As for the One (M9) Prime, there is no rumoured specifications for the handset. However, it is being tipped to feature a larger screen, replacing the HTC One Max phablet in the market. The company is expected to unveil its new flagship during the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. The event is scheduled to happen from March 2 till March 5.

HTC on Monday unveiled two mid-range Desire smartphones namely Desire 620 Dual SIM and Desire 620G Dual SIM. Notably, both the dual-SIM smartphones share similar specifications except the network connectivity, processors and the inbuilt storage expansion limit.
