Measuring a 134 x 66.7 x 9.9 mm, the Huawei Ascend W2 packs in Qualcomm MSM8230 Snapdragon S4 Plus chipset with a dual-core 1.4GHz Krait processor along with Adreno 305 GPU. It comes with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded by up to 32GB through a microSD card. Huawei Ascend W2 features a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 480X800 pixels.
For camera, there is 8-megapixel rear camera. It packs in a 1700mAh battery and runs on Windows Phone 8. Huawei Ascend W2 will be available in three colour options - Blue, Red and Yellow.
Leaked images of Huawei Ascend W2 were posted online a few hours before the launch.
So far there is no official confirmation in regarding when will Huawei start retailing this smartphone or its retail price. However, it is being speculated that Ascend W2 will cost around $300.
From the current set of specification, it appears that this smartphone will be competing with the Nokia Lumia 520 and Lumia 620, which are both entry-level Windows Phone 8 smartphones.
Huawei had recently launched Ascend Mate phablet in India for Rs. 24,900. The Huawei Ascend Mate packs in 6.1-inch display with 1.5GHz processor and 2GB of RAM.
