Lava L661 feature phone with CDMA support launched for Rs. 1,199

MTS, the telecom operator has launched a new feature phone, the Lava L661, in association with domestic handset maker, Lava. MTS notes that the handset comes bundled with MTS unlimited talk plans, however the company has not detailed the talk plans for the handset. The Lava L661 has been priced at Rs. 1,199.

The Lava L661 is a CDMA phone and the company claims it is one of the most affordable phones in the Indian market. It comes with a 1.8-inch TFT display and will be available in three colours - Black, Blue and White.

The Lava L661 features a MP3 player, and storage expandability up to 4GB via microSD card slot. Other features include alarm, calculator, calendar, predictive text T9, Vcard, group SMS and scheduler. The handset also supports speaker phone facility and can be used to make conference calls. It includes a 1000mAh battery.

Recently, MTS rolled out Duet 2, a dual-SIM Gingerbread phone with CDMA support for the Indian market. The MTS Duet 2 is a dual-SIM handset with CDMA+GSM support.

The MTS Duet 2 features a 4-inch TFT LCD display with 320x480 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 7625A processor and 256MB of RAM. It comes with 120MB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It sports a 3.2-megapixel CMOS fixed-focus rear camera and runs the dated Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Lava also unveiled the Iris 506Q quad-core Android 4.2 Jelly Bean phablet for Rs. 10,999. The Lava Iris 506Q comes with a 5-inch qHD (540x960) display with OGS technology and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. For optics, the Iris 506Q sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash while also includes a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.
