What looks like the worst kept secret amongst tech circles, the LG Nexus 4 has fallen victim to more leaks, this time round what seems to be an official press shot posted by Twitter user @evleaks.

The user is a known source for various leaks before and now has tweeted images of the LG Nexus 4 with the 'Nexus' branding on the back panel. Some have questioned the authenticity of the images pointing out the presence of two weather icons in the notification bar. The Nexus logo also doesn't feel that real. However, @evleaks has a stellar record as far as previous leaks are concerned.

@evleaks posted a second image sometime later showing the smartphone at a slightly angular position with a different on-screen image than spotted earlier.

The smartphone has now been seen multiple times in the past since word first came out that LG is in the running to manufacture the next Nexus smartphone. First images of the device were posted on popular modding forum XDA, which also showed the device codename mako that is in line with previous Nexus device code-names.

Evidence of the device name along with the availability details came into existence earlier this month spotted by The Verge. Once Google sent out invites for its upcoming Android event set for October 29, things got a bit positive regarding the smartphone's likely debut.

Another detailed specs leak courtesy MoDaCo mentioned that the device will feature a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM and run on the yet-to-be-released Android 4.2 OS. It is expected to launch in variants of 8 and 16GB with no microSD card support.

Other rumoured specs for the device included a 1280×768 True-HD IPS screen and an 8-megapixel camera along with built-in wireless charging and a non-user replaceable battery.

Though the device looks like the Galaxy Nexus to some extent, the rumoured hardware specs bring it at par with the Optimus G.
