Microsoft Lumia 650, Lumia 950, and Lumia 950XL Price Slashed

Microsoft has announced official price cuts on three of its smartphones in the new Lumia range. The Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, and Lumia 650 all have received permanent price cuts in the US.

The Microsoft Lumia 650 was launched in February, and six months later it has received an official price slash. The smartphone was launched with a price tag of $199 (roughly Rs. 13,300), is now available for $149 (roughly Rs. 10,000). Apart from the US, Canada also receives the price cut and is available for CAD 149 (roughly Rs. 7,800). Microsoft has also introduced discounts on the purchase of the Lumia 650 accessories. In the US, Cricket Wireless is also selling the Lumia 650 for just $50 (roughly Rs. 3,300).

Microsoft brought the dual-SIM variant of the Lumia 650 to India in April for Rs. 15,299. As for specifications, the Microsoft Lumia 650 Dual SIM runs on Windows 10 Mobile. It features a 5-inch Amoled ClearBlack display with HD (720x1280 pixels) resolution, a quad-core 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 212, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, 2000mAh battery, and 4G LTE support. There is no word on whether Microsoft plans to introduce similar price cuts in India, but it is currently being sold for as low as Rs 13,500 on e-commerce sites.

Coming to the Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones, they were launched in October last year. The Microsoft Lumia 950 was launched for $549 (roughly Rs. 36,700), and has now come down to $399 (roughly Rs. 26,700) officially. The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL was launched for $649 (roughly Rs. 43,400), but is now available for $499 (roughly Rs.33,400). For AT&T users, the carrier is selling the Lumia 950 for as low as $299 (roughly Rs. 20,000).

They arrived in India a month later, and were priced at Rs. 43,699 and Rs. 49,399 respectively. There is no official price cut announced for India, but e-commerce sites are currently selling the devices for as low as Rs 30,000 and Rs. 34,999 respectively.
