OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei on Monday revealed CM12S will be released for the OnePlus One smartphone roughly alongside the stable build of OxygenOS in mid-to-late March.

Pei was responding to a user query on Twitter, and announced a March release of both builds apart from apologising for the delay. Pei later confirmed a more precise release date, of mid-to-late March.

The announcement by Pei is a follow-up to the announcement by Cyanogen in late January that the CM12S Lollipop build for the OnePlus One has entered the "QA/QE stage for release." OnePlus earlier this month also revealed some more details about the upcoming stable OxygenOS build for the One smartphone. Also earlier this month, OnePlus and Cyanogen released the CM11S 05Q update, and it was made available over-the-air (OTA) for users globally.

In the meanwhile, OnePlus last week announced a contest that asks participants to submit a design for a OnePlus One accessory. Called the "OnePlus x Ultimaker Creative Contest," the contest was introduced on the company's forum. "As of now, you are the latest product designer for OnePlus. Create an accessory--any accessory you'd like--and design the cad file for 3D printing," the forum post reads.

As explained by the forum post, the contest requires participants to submit cad files for a new OnePlus One accessory, and to assist, the company has provided a 3D model of the smartphone to start off with. Submissions have to be posted to Ultimaker's YouMagine website. The team says "entries will be judged based on design, creativity, feasibility in 3D printing on Ultimaker, and quality."

OnePlus specifies that 20 finalists will be chosen by public voting, while the top three finalists will be chosen by judges from OnePlus and Ultimaker. The contest lasts till March 19 (the last date of submission). The first twenty finalists will each receive an invite for the 64GB Sandstone Black OnePlus One, while the third place will win JBL E1+ Earphones or 3 spools of Ultimaker filament, the second place will win a 64GB Sandstone Black OnePlus One, while the first place winner will get an Ultimaker 2 3D printer.
