Oppo A79 5G is expected to launch soon. The phone is said to succeed the Oppo A78 5G, which was released in India earlier this year in January. The phone arrived with a 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD panel, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W wired SuperVOOC charging support. In a new report, a tipster has shared several key specifications of the purported Oppo A79 5G along with design renders from leaked promotional materials. The report also suggests the colour options of the handset.

Tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414) shared in an Appuals report that the Oppo A79 5G is likely to sport a 6.72-inch full-HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a peak brightness level of 680 nits, a screen-to-body-ratio of 91.4 percent, a contrast ratio of 1400:1 and 96 percent NTSC colour gamut.oppo a79 5g appuals inline a79

Oppo's upcoming smartphone is tipped to be powered by a MediaTekDimensity 6020 SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of inbuilt storage. The Oppo A79 5G is expected to be available in 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. The storage is said to be expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. The handset is expected to ship with Android 13-based ColorOS 13.1.

For optics, the Oppo A79 5G is said to include a dual rear camera unit with a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 sensor and a secondary 2-megapixel Portrait OmniVision OVO2B1B 3P sensor. It is also tipped to come with an 8-megapixel OmniVision OVO8D sensor for selfies, that is expected to be placed centrally in a hole-punch slot at the top of the screen.

The Oppo A79 5G is said to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 33W wired SuperVOOC charging support through a USB Type-C port. The fast charging feature will offer full charge to the handset in 74 minutes, according to the leaked marketing materials. The phone is tipped to feature a dual stereo speaker setup with an Ultra Volume mode. It is also said to support Screen Translate, Auto Pixelate, Photo Information, and Privacy Protection features.

In the leaked marketing materials, the handset is seen with a Glowing Feather Design and is said to come in two colour options - Glowing Green and Mystery Black. It is likely to arrive with a 36-month Fluency Protection certification, according to the report. The Oppo A79 5G is expected to measure 7.99mm in thickness and weigh 193 grams.
