If you are waiting the next version of Kindle Fire or other Kindle e-book readers, you might not have to wait very long as Amazon is reportedly planning to announce these as early as next month.

The launch event is likely to happen on July 31, sources familiar with the matter told CNET.

CNET is not the only one talking about the launch of next-generation Kindle, even the rumour king Digitimes had reported recently that Amazon is targeting the start of third quarter for the release of Kindle Fire 2 with a seven-inch display and 1280x800p resolution.

CNET'S sources however did not reveal anything about the tablet display but did say that Kindle Fire 2 will have volume rocker, and a camera (probably front).

There is no word on internal storage or the processor inside the Kindle Fire successor.

Although Amazon did not reveal the sales number, Kindle Fire was termed as a success, but suddenly the market is full of budget tablets, and even Google is planning to launch a $199 tablet. Given the high-end specs of Google's tablet, Amazon will really have to up its game if it wants to stay relevant in the tablet arena.

The company is also likely to release the improved version of its Kindle e-readers, which are expected to have more features rather than reduced price-point.
