  • Asus Philippines has confirmed halt without disclosing details
  • Company has asked users to switch on the automatic update setting
  • The Nougat update started rolling out in Phillipines earlier this month

Asus started rolling out Android Nougat earlier this month in Philippines but the company has now reportedly stopped the rollout due to undisclosed bug related issues. The company has further advised users to enable the 'Auto Download System Update' in settings so that they receive the update as soon as it is made available.

The Nougat update for ZenFone 3 was expected to start rolling out globally soon after being made available in Philippines early on, as per a report by Android Headlines. However, Asus Philippines has officially confirmed that the update has been put on hold and asked users for their patience. The update is expected to continue within Philippines before it is pushed out globally.

To recall, specifically, the ZenFone 3 (ZE520KL) and ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) models started receiving the Nougat update earlier this month. As we mentioned in our earlier report, the Android 7.0 Nougat update brings with it numerous changes, including Multi-Window support, as well as improved Doze battery saving feature. Asus has reportedly also tweaked its ZenUI customisation alongside, but details of these changes are scarce.

Both the smartphones share some common specifications including a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
