Celkon RahmanIshq AR45 dual-core smartphone launched at Rs. 7,999

Celkon Mobiles has launched its first AR Rahman-themed smartphone, the AR45, introduced under the RahmanIshq series for Rs. 7,999. The Oscar-winning music director was roped in to provide an exclusive ringtone.

The Celkon RahmanIshq AR45 is being promoted as a music smartphone by the company and is targeted to music lovers. It features 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex A7 MediaTek processor. The device runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and supports dual-SIM with dual standby.

The RahmanIshq AR45 sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera alongside an LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It comes with 512MB of RAM and includes 4GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, Micro-USB and 3G. The device also includes a 2000mAh battery, though talktime and standby time figures have not been detailed by the company.

Commenting on the launch, Y Guru, Chairman and Managing Director, Celkon Mobiles, said, "Partnering with the Mozart of Madras for RahmanIshq is a noteworthy achievement for the company. We are proud to share that our customers can also enjoy the special tune composed by the veteran himself for RahmanIshq that will be used extensively for the RahmanIshq smartphones."

Recently, Celkon Mobiles, the domestic handset maker, launched three Android smartphones for the Indian market, the Celkon Monalisa ML-5, Signature Swift A112 and Campus A10.

The Celkon Monalisa ML-5 comes for Rs. 10,999 while the Signature Swift A112 was priced for Rs. 8,799 and the Celkon Campus A10 was launched at Rs. 4,299. The three Celkon smartphones are dual-SIM devices with GSM+GSM and come with 3G connectivity as well.
