HTC One M9 With 20-Megapixel Camera, Snapdragon 810 Launched at MWC 2015

HTC has launched its new One flagship, the One M9 at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. The HTC One M9, retains the naming strategy from the HTC One (M8) and HTC One (M7), and will be available globally starting mid-March. The Taiwanese company is yet to reveal pricing details.

The HTC One M9 sports an all-metal unibody design and will be available dual tone Silver and Rose Gold, single-tone Gunmetal Grey, single tone Gold, and dual tone Gold and Pink colours. HTC alongside has also announced a number of accessories including the second-generation HTC Dot View case for the One M9.

The new HTC flagship runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with the company's brand new Sense 7 UI on top. The new HTC Sense 7 brings upgraded BlinkFeed.

Under the hood, the HTC One M9 is backed by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core (quad-core 2GHz + quad-core 1.5GHz) processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The HTC One (M8) was powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AB) processor while came with 2GB of RAM. The One M9 comes with 32GB inbuilt storage further expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).

Much like the HTC One (M8), the One M9 retains the 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display. The new flagship sports 20-megapixel autofocus rear camera that comes with sapphire cover lens, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording. The One M9 packs a 4-UltraPixel front-camera. The new flagship also comes preloaded with HTC's Eye Experience software enhancements and Zoe app.

Connectivity options on the One M9 include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GLONASS, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and LTE. It features ambient light, proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, magnetic, and sensor hub, while it supports single Nano-SIM cards.

The HTC One M9 packs a 2840mAh battery which is slightly larger than the One (M8) that came with 2600mAh battery. It measures 144.6x69.7x9.61mm and weighs 157 grams.

The new flagship also retains the One family's iconic dual front-facing speakers and BoomSound and with Dolby Audio and 5.1 channel Dolby Surround sound simulation. The handset also supports 24-bit high-definition sound quality.
