The smartphone will be made available in its first flash sale on Tuesday, and will go on sale initially via the company's own website, Mi.com/in. The registrations for the first sale kicked off at 8pm IST on Wednesday and will close on Monday 2pm IST.
It's worth noting that this is first instance when Xiaomi India is kicking off sales of a new phone via its own website. The first product that went up for sale via the company's website was the Mi Band and is still exclusive to the Mi.com. Flipkart has also set up registrations on its site for a flash sale of the Dark Grey variant on June 18, two days after the Mi.com sale.

At Mi 4i's global launch in India, the company had announced exclusive availability of the smartphone via Flipkart, and added that once the exclusive period was over - not indicating how long that will last - the Mi 4i will be made available via Xiaomi's other online partners like Snapdeal and Amazon, as well as offline partners like Airtel and The Mobile Store, apart from Xiaomi's online store Mi.com. The sale of the Dark Grey variant on Mi.com appears to the first step in these announced plans, leaving us to expect wider availability soon.
Xiaomi at the Mi 4i (Review) launch had also promised that the handset will be available in Black, White, Orange, Light Blue, and Pink colours. The Xiaomi Mi 4i however has been available in only White colour variant ever since its first flash sale on April 30.
Priced at Rs. 12,999, the Xiaomi Mi 4i features a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) OGS Corning Concore IPS display; 441ppi; MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop; a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor; Adreno 405 GPU; 2GB of RAM; 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual-tone flash; 5-megapixel front-facing camera; 16GB of inbuilt storage, with no expansion slot, and a 3120mAh battery.
Xiaomi India on Tuesday also confirmed that the Mi 5000mAh Power Bank will go on sale at Rs. 699 on Tuesday. To recall, the 5000mAh Mi Power Bank was launched alongside the 16000mAh Mi Power Bank, which was available earlier this week, last month.
