Oppo launched both its Find X8 and Find X8 Pro in India last year after a four-year gap. We loved the Find X8 because of its slim and lightweight design, as well as the fact that it offered good value. In our review, we were not happy with the Find X8 Pro's cameras because they provided inconsistent quality. The Chinese smartphone brand had armed its flagship to the teeth, with four user-accessible rear-facing cameras, two of which were periscope telephoto cameras (3X and 6X zoom). And with this, we had a phone with ‘Ultra'-level camera capability, that somehow failed to deliver.

The Oppo Find X9 Pro gets a fresh-new IP69-rated design with a new camera bump. The phone is a bit thick but it accommodates a massive battery and also offers fast wireless charging. Oppo has also added a new Hasselblad-branded lens kit to its list of optional accessories, which can be mounted over the rear cameras for extended zoom capability.

The display is very fast and gets very bright outdoors. Software performance is top-notch and is packed with tons of AI features. ColorOS 16 also brings a new glass-like UI design, which can be experienced in its native apps.

All the cameras work as expected. While the primary and ultrawide camera deliver good daylight performance, the telephoto camera shines in all types of lighting conditions.

The phone works well for gaming and offers more than enough performance for everyday multitasking. The high capacity battery also keeps up and easily lasts two days with casual usage.
