The $35 tablet is now $50 but it's still Made in India and will certainly  be the cheapest computing device that has ever been launched.
 
So what features will the low price tag get you? NDTV has exclusive access to the tablet and these are the main features:
 
It will be called Aakash. This is the first change from the prototype which was called Sakshat.

It is manufactured by Datawind in Hyderabad.

The final retail price is Rs 2,276 which is about $50. If you are a student it will cost Rs 1500 or thereabout.

Dimensions: 190.5x118.5x15.7mm

A 7" resistive touchscreen

It weighs 350gms

It runs on Android 2.2 but has a Getjar marketplace instead of Anroid's

A 366MHz processor

Wi-fi enabled only. Later models will be GPRS and SIM enabled.

Connectivity: 2 full USB ports

Memory: 256MB RAM

Storage: 2GB Flash memory + 2GB Micro SD card (expandable to 32GB)

Battery: 2100mAh. It will lasts1.5 to 2 hours when watching HD videos and  3 hours on average use.
