Last year's X70 Pro+ was all about Vivo proving that it could go head-to-head with two of the biggest smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung and Apple in the premium segment. In my review of the X70 Pro+, I was completely convinced of its excellent camera performance and its much-hyped gimbal stabilisation system, making it a very unique offering in the premium segment. Vivo also finally added stereo speakers, wireless charging and an official IP68 rating to the X70 Pro+, which were missing on the previous generation and thus, completed the premium package. But, how do you build a successor to such a feature-packed smartphone that is still very relevant even a year later?
Vivo X80 Pro Summary
Vivo’s X80 Pro is the brand’s flagship replacement for the X70 Pro+. While the phone seems to have minor cosmetic changes, there’s plenty that’s changed on the inside.
The X80 Pro gets a new and updated Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC that is now paired with Vivo’s updated V1+ imaging chip, which assists with imaging and gaming performance.
Its 6.78-inch display mostly remains the same, but is still a high-end one with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution, which makes it quite sharp. The Vivo X80 Pro has a 4,700mAh battery that plugs into an 80W charger and also offers 50W wireless charging.
The cameras have been upgraded as well. There’s now a 50-megapixel Samsung-made GNV sensor for the primary camera and Vivo has moved its unique gimbal stabilisation technology to the 2x Portrait camera for clicking better Portrait photos in low light.

Just wow!Sandeep Chauhan (Oct 6, 2022) on FlipkartThe phone is very good, its design is also very good and the display you can say is the best in itself. if you do not believe in showoff and you want a phone from which you can click very good photos, you can consider this phone. though I have noticed that the phone gets very hot when using the camera for a long time in the sun or on hot days, apart from this I have not felt any drawback in this phone so far after using this phone for 3 months.Is this review helpful?

Simply awesomeSachin A (Oct 6, 2022) on FlipkartIt improvised itself over time, now there is no much heating problem. From day one camera is superb. Battery in standby mode is well optimized, again the android has a role to play. Few calls a day, few photos while roaming out, takes care of battery till evening. Charger does its job well and it is fully powerful in no time.Is this review helpful?
