Xiaomi is pushing further into the Indian laptop market with a new set of mainstream RedmiBook and premium Mi Notebook offerings, all built around current-gen hardware and priced to take on mainstream PC brands. Today, we're reviewing the RedmiBook 15 Pro which is aimed at those who want a comfortable machine for everyday communication, office tasks, or schoolwork. It isn't the lightest or most portable, but it does offer several features that are aimed at making you feel more productive. We're going to find out how different the new RedmiBook 15 Pro is from last year's Mi Notebook models, and whether Xiaomi can now be recommended against competitors such as Dell, HP and Lenovo.

Xiaomi RedmiBook 15 Pro Summary

Xiaomi's first Redmi-branded laptop in India has a polycarbonate body and looks quite plain. Its main calling card is the 11th Gen Intel 'Tiger Lake-H35' CPU which is meant for gaming laptops, but all that power isn't really tapped here since there's no discrete GPU. However, performance in everyday use is good, and this laptop should easily let you get through productivity tasks for office or school. The 15.6-inch full-HD screen is a big disappointment, with poor colour reproduction, contrast, and viewing angles. The speakers are also just about okay. On the bright side, the keyboard isn't cramped and typing is relatively comfortable. You get a variety of ports and a full-sized SD card slot, but no Type-C. The 8GB of RAM is soldered and non-upgradeable, but the 512GB NVMe SSD can be replaced. You also get Office 2019 Home & Student included.
