The PlayStation Collection library continues to expand with the Killzone trilogy being the latest addition. Killzone fans were treated to disappointing news back in February when it was confirmed that the original first-person shooter from Sony was delayed indefinitely.

Now the Killzone trilogy will feature the original Killzone that has been treated with the 720p HD makeover, along with full Trophy support. It will also include  Killzone 2 and KillZone 3, the final dramatic ending to complete the series. The blog further goes on to mention that besides the three games, the Killzone 2 and 3 multiplayer map packs are also included free of charge.

Here are the package details:

Killzone 2 Map Pack Bundle
Steel & Titanium Map Pack
Flash & Thunder Map Pack
Napalm & Cordite Map Pack

Killzone 3 Map Pack Bundle
Killzone 3 Steel Rain Map Pack
Killzone 3 Retro Map Pack
Killzone 3 From The Ashes Map Pack

All three games in the Killzone trilogy are compatible with a 3D TV and the Playstation Move controller. You can pick up the set for $39.99 (MSRP) which will be available on October 23.

This is not the first time we're seeing a trilogy for the PlayStation 3. Last month, remastered versions of the famous Ratchet and Clank games for the PS2 featured on the PlayStation Network for $29.99. Other remastered trilogies include God of War III (Ultimate edition trilogy), Tomb Raider, Resistance and Jak and Daxter.
