Sony has revealed the slate of games joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in May. This month's lineup is led by Sand Land, the action-RPG based on the popular Manga series of the same name. Other games joining the PS Plus Game Catalog this month include role-playing title Soul Hackers 2, survival horror title Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted – Full Time Edition, first-person shooter Battlefield 5, survival-horror shooter Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy and more.

All Game Catalog additions will be available to PS Plus Extra and Deluxe tier subscribers starting May 20, Sony announced on the PlayStation Blog this week. The PlayStation parent also announced a classic title joining the service in May for PS Plus Premium members.

PS Plus Game Catalog Titles for May

Manga fans would be familiar with Sand Land, the beloved series from Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. The video game adaptation, which released for PC and consoles last year, arrives to PS Plus this month. Played from the third-person perspective, the action-RPG lets players traverse through an expansive desert world on a variety of distinct vehicles.

You play as the manga protagonist Beelzebub, who searches the desert for the Legendary Spring with his companions Thief and Sheriff Rao. The journey will present many threats and lots of discoveries as players take on monsters, wildlife, bandits and more. But you can upgrade your skills over the course of the game and add more weapons to your arsenal. And in addition to traversal, your tanks help you take on the meanest of foes. Sand Land will be available on both PS4 and PS5.

Atlus' sci-fi neo-noir RPG Soul Hackers 2 also joins Game Catalog in May. A sequel to 1997's Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, the game will be familiar to fans of the Persona series. It features trademark Atlus art style and turn-based combat, but it's the setting and story that stand out.

In Soul Hackers 2, you play as an artificial being, and agent of Aion, a sentient AI, tasked with stopping an impending apocalypse. You investigate leads, recruit companions and explore a neon-drenched supernatural realm to avert disaster and save the world. Soul Hackers 2 is available on PS5.

PS Plus Extra and Deluxe tier members will also be able to play the first three Stalker games as part of a single package. Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy bundles Shadow of Chornobyl (2007), Clear Sky (2008), and Call of Prypiat (2009) for consoles. The port was released in 2024 and is getting an enhanced edition this month with updated visuals for current-gen consoles.

Players take on the role of a stalker in an alternate version of the Chernobyl Exclusion zone, scavenging and surviving as they fight off monstrous anomalies, explore radioactive regions and uncover long-lost mysteries. As a first-person shooter, the Stalker trilogy emphasises careful resource management, as ammo in the post-apocalypse is sparse, even though the horrors are plenty. Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy will be available for PS4 and PS5.

World War II shooter Battlefield 5 also joins PS Plus this month. Released in 2018, the game followed up the acclaimed Battlefield 1 from 2016. As with any other title in the series, Battlefield 5 features large-scale multiplayer maps and classic modes. The game also introduced a Battle Royale mode, called Firestorm, for up to 64 players on a single map.

Aside from the multiplayer offerings, Battlefield 5 also comes with a single-player campaign that's split up into episodic stories set during the second World War. Battlefield 5 will be available on PS4.
