Tata DOCOMO offers VAS activation via Twitter

  • Tata DOCOMO subscribers can now activate VAS or application by just sending a tweet.
Tata DOCOMO, the GSM brand of Tata Teleservices Limited (TTL) has introduced a Twitter application, Twittcom for its pre-paid customers. This application will allow them to activate a Special Tariff Value recharge (STV), Value added service (VAS) or application via Twitter.
 
To use this application Tata DOCOMO subscribers will have to get their number registered by "mentioning" the Twitter handle of the company, @tatadocomo, along with #reg [Mobile Number]. On doing so, the subscriber will get verification PIN through SMS. The customers then need to "mention" the Twitter handle again, key in #code [Pincode] and they will get a retweet confirming registration.
 
After registering their mobile number in this application, the subscribers can then activating value added services using Twitter. The procedure for the same is "mention" @tatadocomo and key in #act# [Service] [value]. They will get a tweet back confirming activation of the service and the amount of this service will be deducted from their current balance.  However, in this initial stage only a handful of STVs or VAS can be activated using Twitter.

With the increasing consumption of Internet and the rise of social media it makes ample sense to be present on the medium where people are spending time at present or they are likely to spend time in the future."
