Apple Inc. is putting prominent notices on its website to warn about iPod Nano music players in Japan that may overheat.

Sixty one cases of overheating have been reported with the battery in the first-generation iPod Nano machines, sold in 2005 and 2006, according to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Some machines got warped from the heat, causing minor burns when people touched them, but no serious injuries or property damage have been reported, it said.
