Gaana.com, the music streaming service, on Thursday has updated its apps for Android and iOS to version 4.0.

The updated Gaana 4.0 app is now available via Google Play and App Store. The app is compatible with all iOS 6.0 or higher and Android 2.2 or higher devices. The company hasn't detailed if the updated app will be rolled out to other platforms as well (i.e., BlackBerry, and Windows Phone).

The Gaana 4.0 app adds music videos and lyrics along with songs. Users can now watch videos directly from the app's home screen or by tapping on a grey camera icon placed next to the song if its video is available. The app also has a separate video section featuring popular music videos.

In a similar fashion, the lyrics of a song can now be seen with just a click on the lyrics tab while playing a song on the Gaana 4.0 app.

"We are delighted to launch the latest upgrade of the Gaana app. We are committed to providing our users with an immersive music experience that they love. The new version 4.0 will not only provide a complete musical experience through songs, music videos and lyrics but also has features an easy to use hassle free interface. This upgrade would certainly redefine the way people experience music on mobile devices," said, Pawan Agarwal, Business Head, Gaana.com.

Earlier the rival music streaming service Saavn announced the carrier billing service for its mobile subscribers using the Android app. Carrier billing is now available to mobile subscribers for the paid music subscription service, Saavn Pro. The company has tie-up with its participating carrier partners, including bigger carriers like Airtel and Vodafone, for the service billing.
