Google wants you to be a good Samaritan and help it make its language-related Internet services better. The search giant has launched an app called Crowdsource, which asks you to contribute either through image transcriptions or verification of translations, depending on your fluency in one or more languages.

If you are fluent in just one language, the app asks you to help image transcription or recognition of poorly handwritten samples. In case you are fluent in more languages, you can help Google by verifying the already available translations for text and Maps data or create new ones.

Although Google has a dedicated research team for artificial intelligence, this sort of crowdsourcing should result in better results as complications associated with language can be better resolved at a local level rather than at a macro level.

In its app description, Google has said, "Each microtask takes no more than five to 10 seconds, so knock away a few the next time you find yourself with a few moments to kill."

You can download the app directly from Google Play.

Its seems like Google has become extremely fond of crowdsourcing in the recent past, as the company also announced (https://www.gadgets360.com/wearables/news/google-wants-your-designs-for-its-new-android-wear-watch-faces-1451680) that it is crowdsourcing the watch face designs for its Android Wear Collection for the fall as it launched a contest to receive entries through Instagram.
