About Koyla Movie (1997)

Raja (Amrish Puri) is a stone-hearted rich old womaniser who changes his partner like dirty laundry. Now he has his eyes set on Ganga (Madhuri Dixit Nene), a beautiful yet innocent villager.

To trick her into marrying him, he sends the damsel a photograph of his mute help, Shankar (Shah Rukh Khan) — and oblivious to the truth, Ganga instantly agrees.

Now that she is trapped in an abusive marriage where torture and disregard make the rule of the day, will she ever be able to taste freedom and love?
