Shah Rukh Khan, also known by his initials SRK, is an Indian actor, film producer, and television personality. Lauded as Baadshah and the King of Bollywood, Khan has starred in close to 100 films — mostly of the romance and drama genre. SRK began his career in theatre, gradually promoting himself to the TV before rolling into films.
Khan made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with Deewana. SRK also chairs his motion picture production company Red Chillies Entertainment, and is the co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders, and the Caribbean Premier League team Trinbago Knight Riders.
Other than 14 Filmfare Awards, Khan is the recipient of the India’s national award the Padma Shri, as well as France’s Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and the Legion of Honour. SRK has also been credited with UNESCO's Pyramide con Marni award for his support of children's education, and the World Economic Forum's Crystal Award in 2018 for his leadership in championing women's and children's rights in India.
