So far at E3 this year, we've seen some amazing new titles, sequels and prequels of major franchises. Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition was one of them. The game debuted for Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console at Nintendo's early morning press conference.

Warner Brothers Interactive Montreal producer Reid Schneider presented the game which has been developed for Nintendo's upcoming Wii console. He unveiled several new in-game features that will take advantage of Nintendo's GamePad screen. Schneider said, "With the Wii U's GamePad, you'll have access to Batman's entire arsenal at the touch of a finger". He also added that this will be the "most immersive Batman experience yet".

The gameplay video demonstrated a new mode called Battle Armored Tech (B.A.T.) that would increase damage in melee combats. The batarang can now be used with the tilt functionality of the tablet controller. Using the GamePad's accelerometer technology, players can hold up the tablet controller to scan the in-game environment and also steer the batarang in mid air via the GamePad screen.

Speaking of weapons, the Dark Knight's arsenal can now be accessed by just one tap on the GamePad's screen. Simple screen taps also allow players to set off explosions. The explosive and freexzing foam weapons can be detonated with just one tap. A convenient feature is access to the current level maps without having to access the pause screen.

The original Batman Arkham City, a sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum, released in 2011 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC. The game's popularity has attracted Nintendo, which has made an all-out effort to develop the game for the Wii U console. The challenge facing it however is whether or not it will appeal to Arkham City fans. Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition is due for release this fall.
