We had earlier reported in August that the LG Optimus Vu would be arriving in Asia in September. The device, which was already made available in Korea and Japan, has now hit Indian shores carrying a price tag of Rs. 34,500. Users can avail the the smartphone-tablet hybrid on LG's official website.

Initially announced at the Mobile World Congress this year, the Optimus Vu sports a 5-inch TRUE-XGA IPS Display with a 1024x768 pixel revolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio. This may come as a surprise for many considering the smartphone's huge screen. The phablet boasts an 8MP CMOS Auto focus rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera as well.

On the inside, the Optimus Vu comes with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.0.4, has 32GB internal memory and is powered by a 2,080mAh battery. The device also includes a variety of connectivity options like Wi-Fi, 3G (HSPA+21 Mbps), Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI, DLNA, NFC and A-GPS.

The Korean manufacturer is also offering an NFC Tag(3) and a Rubbebdium Pen with the Optimus Vu.

LG has already announced a successor to the 5-inch phablet at this year's IFA trade fair. Dubbed as the LG Optimus Vu II, which is now out in Korea, the device sports a 5-inch screen and runs on Android 4.0.

Just like its predecessor, the Optimus Vu II is powered by a Qualcomm 1.5Ghz dual-core processor on board with 2GB RAM. For imaging needs, users will find an 8MP autofocus rear shooter and a 1.3MP front camera. The LG Optimus Vu II comes with a 2150mAh battery and 3 GB ofinternal storage. It is available in three colour options - white, black and pink.

Furthermore, LG has also announced a couple of interesting accessories along with this new device. These include a wireless charging pad and a waterproof One Key remote. The One Key remote will help you find your device at a mere touch of a button and its multicolour LED flashes to show calls, messages, charging status and other alerts.

The Rubberdium Pen bundled with the original Optimus Vu, has been upgraded with a slimmer nib, which the company claims will facilitate more accurate handwriting.
