After being spotted in a number of leaks online, and even being listed for pre-order in the UK, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha smartphone is once again in the news - this time in multiple images purported to show the anticipated handset in comparison with the Apple iPhone 5s.

The yet-to-be-launched Samsung Galaxy Alpha handset allegedly pictured in the leaked images (see above) uploaded on Twitter by @CuLeaks, appears to be thinner than the iPhone

5s (which is already rather slim at 7.6mm). However, there is still no word on the handset's exact dimensions.

The alleged Galaxy Alpha images show the smartphone from different angles. While the lower part of the smartphone's front houses the iconic home button, the bottom panel sports a microphone hole, charging port and the speaker. The right side only comes with a dedicated power button, while the back panel boasts of a camera and a flash on faux leather material. The left side of the handset was not pictured.

The leaked images also show one of the most-anticipated features of the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy Alpha smartphone, its metal bezels seen on the top and sides. The metal finish on the Samsung smartphone is something users have been requesting for a while.

@CuLeaks also corroborated some of the specifications which we have seen in our previous reports. The Galaxy Alpha, codenamed SM-G850, is said to run on a Samsung Exynos 5 octa-core processor with four Cortex-A15 cores. The handset might also flaunt Super AMOLED HD screen and feature 32GB of inbuilt storage.

While the inclusion of Android 4.4.4 KitKat is pretty evident upon the launch, the handset is also said to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Previous reports indicate the anticipated Galaxy Alpha handset will sport a 4.7-inch display; a 2.1MP front-facing camera; a fingerprint sensor; 4G LTE, and Bluetooth 4.0.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha was earlier this week seen listed for pre-order in the UK at GBP 549 (approximately Rs. 56,400). The smartphone is rumoured to launch on August 13.
