Sony reportedly working on large screen 'Togari', 20-megapixel 'Honami' smartphones

After making a big splash with the launch of Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL, Sony seems to be working on two new devices that are codenamed Honami and Xperia Togari.

According to a news report by PhoneArena, Sony Xperia Togari will be the first large display device from the Sony's stable. The website also mentions that as per a Baidu forum member, this large display device will come with a stylus.

Furthermore, Sony Xperia Togari is expected to be a very slim smartphone much like the Sony Xperia Z. The earlier rumours stated that this phablet will have 6.44-inch full-HD display and the latest set of leaks too confirm the same. This smartphone could have a pixel density of about 342ppi.

In the month of February the benchmark scores of this Sony Xperia C680X had leaked online and as per GSMArena, Xperia C680X could well be the Xperia Togari. Unfortunately, the test scores of Sony Xperia C680X did not reveal much about the specifications of this phablet.

Sony Honami on the other hand will be a camera-focussed smartphone that will come with a 16-megapixel or a 20-megapixel Cyber-shot CMOS sensor with Carl Zeiss lens. According to GSM Arena, Sony is also likely to deploy Walkman audio chip in its Honami, which will be on the lines of S-Master MX Digital Amplifier.

The website is quoting ePrice in regards to the specifications of this device, which mentions 5-inch full-HD screen, a Snapdragon 800 processor that clocks 2.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM. This device is also expected to come with a 2700mAh or a 3000mAh battery.

The other alleged specification of Sony Honami include 4.8-inch full-HD display and 13.1-megapixel rear camera.

As per the current set of leaks, both Sony Honami and Xperia Togari appear to be water and dust resistant devices much like the Sony Xperia Z.

VR-Zone website claims that Sony Honami will use Triluminos display and there is a possibility that Xperia Togari too might deploy the same.

Earlier reports had suggested that Sony is working on an affordable 5-inch device but there were no concrete details available in regards to this phablet. However, this device is too is expected to be available in the second half of the year.
