Facebook, in celebration of its 10-year anniversary, has launched the "A Look Back" product, an experience that enables people on Facebook to see a personalized movie or a collection of photos with their biggest moments since they joined Facebook.

The social networking giant says "this is a small gesture to thank the over one billion people who are on Facebook by providing a unique way to look back at some of their biggest moments."

On the company's 10th anniversary on Tuesday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted thank you message to users, said: "It's been an incredible journey so far, and I'm so grateful to be a part of it. It's been amazing to see how people have used Facebook to build a real community and help each other in so many ways. In the next decade, we have the opportunity and responsibility to connect everyone and to keep serving the community as best we can."

You can access the experience by going to https://www.facebook.com/lookback while being logged into your Facebook account. You can also wait for Facebook (the link above seems to be down temporarily) to send you a notification that your Look Back video is ready. An example of a Look Back video can be seen below.

Users will be able to share their Look Back videos on their timelines. The Look Back video initiative is very much like the Year in Review compilations Facebook has offered at the end of the year, but this time, it's in video form, and highlights the biggest events from the user's entire time on the social network.

Facebook celebrated its 10th birthday on Tuesday in a rather low-key fashion, announcing a regular annual internal party, scheduled for Friday this year. While the arrival of its 10th anniversary on Tuesday has pundits analysing the social network's past and theorizing about its future, the Internet juggernaut is trying to stay focused on the job at hand.
