Facebook is set to make a small tweak to its public events interface that earlier included a 'Maybe' button for people who were not sure whether they were attending an event. A Facebook spokesperson has confirmed that the 'Maybe' button in Facebook's public events will be replaced with 'Interested' button that is likely to offer a more clear picture of who's actually interested for the event. A company spokesperson confirmed the news to The Next Web.

The change has started rolling out to all the users worldwide and the new 'Interested' button should start appearing in the next few days for public events. Facebook however will maintain 'Maybe' button for private events.

Facebook back in September was also piloting a new feature that would allow hosts to check whether invitees have seen event invitations or not. The read receipts feature was already a part of several messaging platforms such as WhatsApp as well as the Messenger standalone app.

A Facebook spokesperson had confirmed plans about piloting the ability for private event hosts and guests to know whether their friends they invited had seen the event. The company however is yet to confirm when the feature will go live for everyone.

Last week, Facebook introduced Message Requests for Messenger, meant to allow people to connect with anyone via chat. The new feature replaced the Other Folder of the Facebook inbox where messages sent by strangers were kept (and usually remained undiscovered). The Message Requests feature allowed users to accept or ignore new requests without the sender knowing that they read the message.
