The wait is over for India. Apple has announced that the iPad 2 will be available in 12 countries, including India, 9am onwards on April 29.
The latest version of the iPad will be available for a maximum retail price of Rs. 29,500 for the 16GB model, Rs. 34,500 for the 32GB model and Rs. 39,500 for the 64GB model. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G will be available for a maximum retail price of Rs. 36,900 for the 16GB model, Rs. 41,900 for the 32GB model and Rs. 46,900 for the 64GB model. iPad 2 is 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter than the original iPad, while maintaining the same 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen. iPad 2 features Apple's new dual-core A5 processor and now includes two cameras, a front-facing VGA camera for FaceTime and Photo Booth, and a rear-facing camera that captures 720p HD video. iPad 2 promises up to 10 hours of battery life.
The official announcement comes just hours after a Twitter post from electronics dealer Vijay Sales said that the iPad 2 will be available in the country in the next two days.
