Aircel Introduces Rs. 10 'Extra Credit Service' for Consumers in Crisis

Aircel on Thursday launched an 'Extra Credit Service' in partnership with mCarbon, which allows users in Delhi and Mumbai to get an instant loan of Rs. 10 when their connection balance drops below Rs. 10.

"Aircel's Extra Credit service will provide its users an instant loan of Rs. 10 by dialing *414# or IVR dialing 12880 or through SMS LOAN to 55414, which can be availed when their balance drops below Rs 10," briefs the company.

The company has also added that Aircel users in Delhi and Mumbai will not get the credit for free, as the loan amount will be deducted along with a convenience fee of Rs. 2, but company has not provided any time duration of it. Aircel specifies prepaid customers in Delhi and Mumbai who have been on the network for a minimum of 120 days will be able to avail the new service.

Notably, Vodafone also offers the similar service called 'Chota Credit', in which users can type CREDIT and send to 144. The Rs. 15 credit balance gets deducted after 24 hours with a convenience fee to Rs. 3.

Announcing the offer, Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer, Aircel, said "Sometimes the mobile phones run out of balance amount at crucial times and it causes a lot of inconvenience to the customers. With the launch of Aircel's Extra Credit Service, we aim to ensure that our customers are connected 24x7, even in times of need when they have exhausted their account balance."

Rajesh Razdan, Co-founder and CEO , mCarbon said, "Aircel extra credit service is revolutionary in adding value to existing prepaid customer experience by providing balance advances to those in need. The service leverages on deep consumer analytics and usage patterns to enhance customer service and drive revenues by generating additional minutes of usage in the network."
