Bose unveils Lifestyle 135 and Cinemate 1SR

The soundbar is unique in several ways, the first being its ability to be either mounted vertically on the wall or placed horizontally on a table top. One would think that the horizontal placement would cause the soundbar to project the sound upwards, but that is actually not the case. The bar features a set of sensors that detect the orientation of the speakers, and re-route sound to match their orientation. So regardless of how the soundbar is placed, the sound will always be projected forward.

The other unique feature of the soundbar is its incredibly slim profile, with all the connectivity ports being recessed into the back of the soundbar. The design also employs the vertical orientation for plugging in devices, meaning there are no cables jutting out of the back and into the wall.

Bose also redesigned their Acoustimass module, reducing considerably in bulk without compromising on the quality of the low sound frequencies it is deigned to pump out. A significant jump from their existing line of entertainment systems, the soundbar and Acoustimass module are wireless and communicate using the RF frequency in the 2.4 GHz range.

Bose has packaged these two new products into the Lifestyle 135 and the Cinemate 1 SR package. The lifestyle 135 includes the soundbar and the new Acoustimass module along with a control console that allows for up to 6 additional devices (using HDMI ports) being connected to the soundbar. The control module comes with Bose's patented technologies like Unify (Uses on-screen navigation to Simplify system setup and everyday use), Adaptiq (provides greater freedom of speaker placement) and Bose Link (lets you connect compatible Bose devices to the system at any stage) designed to enhance the listening pleasure. An iPod dock features as part of the Lifstye 135 bundle.

The Cinemate 1SR is the Lifestyle 135 sans the control console and the iPod dock. The Cinemate 1SR is for those who are looking for great sound in an elegant and relatively cost effective package.
