Claude Personal Finance can generate monthly spending charts
Claude Personal Finance was introduced by the Dario Amodei-led AI giant Anthropic on Thursday. It is a specialised tool that has been integrated directly into Anthropic's AI chatbot. The AI giant claims that Claude Personal Finance allows users to manage their money matters better by providing insights. Users have to connect their financial accounts, allowing the specialised AI tool to retrieve information on their financial health. However, the company says that the Claude Personal Finance tool can not make changes on the user's behalf. The new Claude tool will be rolled out in beta to paid subscribers in select regions.
In a blog post, the San Francisco-based AI giant announced the launch of Claude Personal Finance, a specialised AI-powered tool integrated into Anthropic's chatbot. The financial management tool will start rolling out later this week and will be available to Pro, Max, and Ultra subscribers in the US, the company said. On top of this, Anthropic assures that, “like the rest of Claude”, Personal Finance will not present any ads or sponsored recommendations, such as credit cards, loans, or savings accounts of “its own”.
The Claude Personal Finance tool is capable of answering questions about financial management in natural language. It can also explain unfamiliar and complex financial terms and jargon to users in “everyday” language. The company says that Claude Personal Finance eliminates the need for users to open their mobile banking apps or internet banking portals to get information.
Users can “securely” connect their bank and card accounts with the Claude Personal Finance tool, allowing it to analyse their finances and provide insights. The specialised AI tool only has read-only access to the user's financial information. Anthropic claims that Claude Personal Finance can not move money, autonomously manage finances, or invest on the user's behalf.
The company says that the Claude Personal Finance tool will be able to create spending charts, calendars of scheduled payments, and a dashboard including the figures a user chooses to see. After the AI tool has generated the chart, users can choose to make adjustments based on their preferences. Users can ask the chatbot to generate a monthly spending chart. The AI tool will place each transaction in separate categories.
