  • The web version was launched on Android last month
  • The support for more browsers has been added
  • Allo for web was only support by Chrome browser earlier

After a long delay, Google launched the Web version of its Allo app last month. Interestingly, the Web client was made available exclusively for Android at the time. However, the search giant has now made Allo for Web available for iPhone as well. The company has already started rolling out the support for the iOS platform.

Apart from the support for iOS, Google has also added the support for Firefox and Opera browsers for the Web version of its social app. Notably, when the Web version was launched last month, it was introduced with support for just Chrome browser. In his announcement tweet on Tuesday, Amit Fulay, head of Google Allo, said, "Allo for Web now supports iOS, Firefox & Opera. Rolling out today, update to the latest build and give it a try http://g.co/alloforweb."

Separately, Google Allo has now been updated to show some basic tips about using the app, as pointed out in a report by 9To5Google, which should help people who are new to the Web version. With its tips, the search giant says that the users are required to keep their smartphones switched on to stay connected to the Web client. Allo for Web also needs users' smartphones to sync up chats and contacts.

Finally, Google states the obvious as well by saying, "To save data, use Wi-Fi." While these are not advanced level tips, it is good to know that the company is trying to introduce the service to more users.
