Shortly after releasing its Stickered for Messenger app for Android on Sunday, Facebook on Tuesday has made the app available for iOS users on the App Store.

When unveiling the Stickered for Messenger app for the Android platform earlier this week, Facebook had said the iOS version was due soon, only awaiting Apple's approval before being published on the App Store. It appears Apple has granted that approval.

As detailed in our previous coverage, the Stickered for Messenger app lets users super-impose Facebook Messenger stickers onto their photos.

While the ad-free Stickered for Messenger app does not require a Facebook login, users will only be able to share modified pictures with their friends via the Facebook Messenger app. Users will be able to decorate photos from their smartphone gallery, or use the app's built in camera - giving users the ability to apply stickers before and after taking the shot.

To paste stickers (of which there are 52 categories ranging from Pokemon to Teletubbies) in Stickered for Messenger, users can drag, pinch, stretch and rotate stickers on their selected image.

Facebook says there is no limit to how many stickers can be applied in one image, and users can also write captions for the images decorated by Stickered by Messenger.

Facebook's move to introduce a separate app for a feature that could very well have been integrated in Messenger is curious, and we may see the company bring it in as a feature if it becomes popular. Facebook Messenger last month reached the 500 million monthly active users milestone.

Stickered for Messenger is available to download from Google Play and from the App Store.
