MobiKwik, NASVI Partner to Enable Street Vendors to Accept E-Wallet Payments

Over a million street vendors across 25 states will be trained to conduct digital transactions with customers to tide over the current cash crunch, an official said on Friday.

The National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) has tied up with the mobile wallet MobiKwik to enable cashless transactions.

NASVI founder Arbind Singh said the livelihood of small and street vendors has been hit to a great extent following demonetisation and the partnership with MobiKwik will help them at this juncture.

"Following demonetisation, street vendors across India have lost 70 percent of their businesses and this solution will enable them to keep their businesses running," Singh said.

Co-founder of MobiKwik Upasana Taku said the company constantly strives to develop solutions to bridge the gap between Bharat and India in tune with its motto 'Desh Ke Liye, Desh Ka Wallet'.

"This association is imperative for us to support street vendors by educating them about the various e-payment options available to get payments from customers," Taku said.

Over the next three months, it will train a million street vendors on this cashless facility and later extend it to over three million street vendors earning a livelihood in 24 states in India.
