About The Last Lear Movie (2008)
Harish Mishra (Amitabh Bachchan) is a talented theatre artist who knows all Shakespearean plays by heart — and has spent 30 years and nine months on stage celebrating the Bard in some way or the other.
Although the retired artist has had received opportunities to act on the silver screen, his contempt for modern cinema never let him out of his shell.
This goes on until a young, ambitious director (Arjun Rampal) lures him out of his retirement for a film. As this new course reels over, the real reason behind Mishra suddenly quitting theatre starts unravelling.
The National Award-winning film is based on Utpal Dutt's semiautobiographical play "Aajker Shahjahan".
