About The Serpent Queen TV Series

Fourteen-year-old Catherine de Medici marries into the French Valois court, only to discover that her husband is in love with an infertile older woman.

The Serpent Queen is her journey from a woman who was once seen just as a token of heavy dowry and heir production, to a majestic queen who ruled France for over thirty years.

The period drama is based on Leonie Frieda's 2004 book, Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen.
