Streaming Xbox One games to Windows 10 PCs and tablets has been touted as one of the killer features of the platform, allowing you to wirelessly play your Xbox One catalogue of games when your TV is in use. And now, the community on Reddit have discovered how to make it better. With a bit of tweaking you can get your games running at 'very high quality' instead of the officially available 'high quality' setting while streaming for increased visual fidelity.

Reddit user OomaThurman, posting on the Xbox One subreddit (which is surprisingly one of the more pleasant Xbox One communities around) shared how to do this:"Simply edit the userconsoledata in the xbox app folder and change IsInternalPreview to true. C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxApp_~~~~~~\LocalState [where ~~~~~~ is the random number associated with the app]."

He prefaces this with a disclaimer that you can expect your bandwidth to take a massive hit and that you need "exceptional networking gear" aside from the obvious understanding of what you're doing as you may have to reinstall the Xbox One app if you don't edit the values correctly.

Considering that bandwidth requirements for streaming Xbox One to Windows 10 are steep enough as it is, it's unlikely that anyone who isn't an enthusiast would make use of this.

Did you unlock the highest Xbox One streaming settigs on your Windows 10 PC? Or are you waiting for Microsoft to announce (and hopefully optimise) it officially?
