Triumph Daytona 660 Launches in Europe, India Launch Imminent

Triumph has introduced the Daytona 660 in Europe, priced at EUR 10,045 (approximately Rs. 8.98 lakh). The bike, set to arrive in India soon, features a 660cc inline three-cylinder engine generating 95bhp and 69Nm of torque. With a sporty design and relaxed rider triangle, it offers split LED headlights, three ride modes, traction control, and ABS. The Daytona 660 rides on Showa suspension and boasts twin front discs and a single rear disc for braking. Equipped with full LED illumination and a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, it aims to compete with models like the Kawasaki Ninja 650 and Honda CBR650R in the Indian market, expected to launch by late February or mid-March 2024.

Tata Motors unveiled the Tata Curvv coupe SUV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, showcasing its exterior design while keeping the interior under wraps. Featuring a multi-layered dashboard and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display, the Curvv adopts a mainstream design. Government Ups FAME-II Scheme Allocation to Boost EV Adoption

The government has increased the allocation for the FAME-II scheme to Rs 11,500 crore from Rs 10,000 crore, aiming to boost the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Subsidies for electric two, three, and four-wheelers have been revised to Rs 7,048 crore, with a significant portion allocated for electric two-wheelers. Additionally, funds have been earmarked for purchasing electric buses and establishing EV charging stations. The FAME India scheme incentivizes EV manufacturers to localize components and increase sales by offering subsidies. Despite budgetary adjustments, the government remains committed to supporting the e-vehicle ecosystem and enhancing charging infrastructure, as outlined in the interim budget speech. Since its inception in 2019, FAME-II has subsidized the sale of over 1.2 million two-wheelers, 141,000 three-wheelers, and 16,991 four-wheelers, with substantial disbursements made to date.

Bajaj has unveiled updates to its 2024 Pulsar N150 and N160 models, featuring a fully-digital instrument panel showcasing various information like gear position indicator and mobile notifications. The bikes also boast new graphics for a sportier appearance and updated switchgear for enhanced functionality. Notably, the Pulsar N150 now includes a refreshed left-side switchgear with additional controls for the headlight and instrument cluster navigation. Connectivity features allow users to receive call and message alerts directly on the display, with options to accept or reject calls via the switchgear. Mechanically, the Pulsar N150 retains its 149.5 cc engine producing 14.5 hp, while the N160 continues with its 165 cc unit generating 17 hp. Additionally, safety enhancements include rear disc brakes and single-channel ABS for the N150, while the N160 benefits from dual-channel ABS and larger disc brakes.

Honda NX500 Adventure Tourer Deliveries Start in India

Honda commences deliveries of the NX500 adventure tourer in India, succeeding the CB500X. Priced at Rs 5.90 lakh, it's imported via the CBU route. The 471cc parallel-twin engine boasts enhancements for smoother performance, producing 47 BHP and 43 Nm. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, it features a slipper clutch. The bike sports a 41 mm Showa upside-down fork, mono-shock, and dual-channel ABS for optimal handling. With dual 296 mm front discs and a single 240 mm rear disc, it promises reliable braking. Lightweight alloy wheels enhance agility, promising versatility across various terrains.
