I was really skeptical about whether I'd like this laptop or not. I had previously (about a year or two ago) purchased an HP gaming laptop. It wasn't an Omen but it was definitely built and billed as a gaming laptop. However, using that laptop, even with my World of Warcraft settings turned all the way down, the computer would frequently freeze up in 25-man raids when there was a ton going on. Nothing like your guild counting on you to heal or tank and you can't do a darn thing and cause everyone to wipe. I started to seriously hate that laptop. So when I saw this HP Omen and I'd heard good things about Omen laptops, I was really darn skeptical as to whether or not it could even handle WoW (which really isn't that resource intensive of a game in general) let alone any other games.I ended up being really impressed by this laptop. Unlike most pre-built laptops, you can easily make upgrades to this if you want to. That's a huge plus in my book. I also experienced no lag issues during raid/mythic content when playing on this machine. Even during raids, my framerate was about 50 to 55fps without a single freezing issue. That's with all settings at 7. At non-raid and non-boss points, the framerate was about 85-90fps. With that being said, WoW in general, again, isn't very resource intensive. If you want to play an extremely resource-intensive game you're going to need to make some upgrades to this. Still, even with making the necessary upgrades you'll be spending a lot less than you would on an Alienware laptop. With that being said, no matter the upgrades you make, this isn't going to have all of the bells and whistles a $3k machine will have, but it will be extremely impressive for a pre-built laptop with some upgrades and the ability to make those upgrades easily. If you don't like the display, you can always dock it into a better display. Personally I'm not very picky and to me the display is good enough for what I need.The keyboard is backlit, which is great. Our guild tends to raid later in the evenings and doesn't end until about 1AM my time so I like to reaid from bed sometimes and need a good laptop (which this is) to do it and I like the fact I can actually see the keys in the dark. My 4 year old sleeps in a part of the master suite that would be lit up if we turned the lights on and I don't want to be disturbing her at one in the morning just so I can see the keyboard while I raid. The backlight makes it very easy for me to see what I need to if I happen to need to (I usually type by touch, but hands get misplaced in high-stress environments so I do need to glance at the keyboard at times).The one thing I will say that while setting this thing up was stupid-level easy, you need to be careful which options you select unless you want a ton of third parties getting a hold of your info. Once set up, startup is superbly fast thanks to a serious lack of bloatware.Overall, for a pre-built machine I think this is great. Really impressive performance. A lot of nice features. Not a lot of bloatware so the system isn't slowed down. Very easy setup. Plus there's the ability to make upgrades if you want/need to, which isn't common with pre-built laptops that are usually designed to be disposable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quality gaming laptop that doesn't break the bank.

This laptop is not the best gaming laptop of all price, but is the best gaming laptop for it?s now price. You can?t find another laptop with cheaper price but better configurations. In addition, it looks really cool and the touch of keyboard is nice.

I had to buy my nephew a new reliable laptop for junior high. But also a laptop that will at least last him until he graduates from high school. Found a winner!! It's got an internal SSD drive plus a 1TB internal hard drive to install and run his programs from. You won't get a 2nd hard drive on any Macbook Pro. I promise you that. 4GB DDR5 dedicated video card and 12GB of SDRAM.I even borrowed this HP laptop for a DJ gig running Virtual DJ because my old Macbook Pro from 2013 can't refresh fast enough to playback video songs on 50 inch Samsung 4K TV. The old mac only has a 1GB dedicated video card.But the HP Omen laptop worked perfect. It didn't even sweat it. That HP laptop was like, "Is that all you got for me?" There's a different model with the backlit keyboard option, wish I bought that one instead. But other than that, this laptop ROCKS!!! Great purchase.

I am a gamer but I am not a PC or console gamer. I am both. I had an alien ware Desktop and loved it for years. I have a PS4 and a Switch. I say this because I am not a die hard only PC person. I love them both. With that in mind I love this laptop. It has great graphics, a good amount of RAM and a good processor. It is not the best money can buy but it is the best at this price! It controls heat well and performs amazing. The batter runs down when playing games but that is to be expected. When doing normal work the battery last all day (6 - 8 hours). I would highly recommend this product. Also I ordered it and got it in a day. If you are looking for a good gaming laptop that is right at $1000.00 look no further... no really, buy it.

Laptop is very slim comparing to my 2 year's laptop.

Very fast computer. Meets my needs very well. It boots up fast, downloads very quickly, and has a beautiful screen. The lighted keyboard is very helpful. A very nice computer. I'm glad I purchased it.

I've used this laptop to play Forza, edit photos in PS, and create short videos with my GoPro footage and it handles it all like a champ. A few times, I have had Netflix playing on a second screen while I edit videos, without any real lag or issues. Definitely has some power behind it and, coming from a 7-year old Macbook Pro, this is a huge improvement - I couldn't do anything with that

For the price I am very happy with my purchase, however it does get hot after 3-4hrs of gameplay with moderate graphics and about 1hr with maxed graphics so a cooling pad would be a great purchase to consider if you decide to buy this laptop.

Excelente equipo buen rendimiento

I'm mostly using it for music production (it can run Omnisphere and other high CPU software) and gaming (I'm mostly playing Elite Dangerous with all settings maxed). NO ISSUES!

Use mine for basics and some gaming and video editing fastest "smoothest" computer I've ever used

It?s awesome! It runs smoothly and fast too! Not too bulky. It doesn?t overheat. Great for the price.

I really am glad to have purchased this gaming laptop. It has been very useful and very sturdy for my gaming needs. Not that hard core so it meets the requirements of my games. I love the lighted keyboard. It looks cool. Heavier and bigger than I thought though, but otherwise I am very satisfied with it.

This was a gift for my husband after his last laptop gave up the ghost suddenly. Although he is not a gamer, this computer has been great! It is super fast and the battery has a long life

Works great for playing games and other applications you may need. Only downfall is no CD Rom for installing direct programs.

For the amount of money I paid for this product it was massively worth it, all together I paid 1100$ and I got a very incredible laptop, I was going to build a PC but I needed a computer for college, this is the best laptop I?ve ever had, and it was worth way more then 1100$

Battery life is just okay, and the fan gets pretty loud. But the overall performance is very good

We weren't particularly looking for a gaming computer, but our 17 year old daughter was in the market for a new laptop. She had been using her brother's old laptop, but it wasn't powerful enough to run one of the games she wanted to play. It was basically an older, outdated laptop without the capability to run modern gaming software. She's going to college next year and needed something that would let her do school assignments on and allow her to stream movies too. She's pretty busy, but she does enjoy a good 3rd person shooter game now and then. This laptop has met all of her needs so far. She can do all three. It was easy to set up out of the box. Cortana talked her through it. She hasn't been able to figure out how to change the colors of the keyboard yet. We looked up videos online and they told us to go to the settings and select an option that isn't there. So for the time being, she's stuck with red lights. Battery time has been fine. She is usually near an outlet so there haven't been any issues yet with battery life. It's fairly light weight and fits in her backpack easily. Overall, she is quite happy with it.

This is an excellent gaming laptop for the price. I have another gaming laptop that is twice as expensive, and the only real difference I can see is the battery stays charged longer on my expensive laptop. The graphics are excellent, and this baby is super fast. It is really awesome for gaming.The keyboard is also great and doesn?t stick.Really, the short battery life is the only drawback to this laptop. It is supposed to stay charged for over 6 hours, but mine only lasts for about half that time. I don?t mind keeping it plugged in at home, but when traveling, this is a pain. If it held its charge longer, I would give it the full five stars because its overall performance is excellent.

A decent laptop with quirks.

It was mostly good but the frames were not very good on big games like GTA V. The battery life is very bad too.
