Asus ROG Strix GL702ZC Laptop With AMD Ryzen 7 Launched in India: Price, Specifications

Asus has announced what it calls the industry's first gaming laptop powered by AMD's eight-core Ryzen 1700 processor, in India. The Asus ROG Strix GL702ZC is currently available at e-commerce platform Flipkart for pre-order. The laptop, to be available from March 20, has been priced at Rs. 1,34,990.

The ROG Strix GL702ZC laptop was first introduced by Asus' ROG gaming division in May last year. The laptop features a 17.3-inch full-HD IPS anti-glare display with Radeon FreeSync support that is powered by the Ryzen 7 1700 processor (eight cores, 16 threads), AMD Radeon RX580 graphics (4GB of VRAM), and 16GB of DDR4 memory (expandable up to 32GB). It also sports a 256GB SATA SSD, and a 1TB HDD.

In addition, the laptop features four display modes, which can be accessed with a single click - Normal mode, Vivid mode, Eye Care mode, and Manual mode. Also, the Strix GL702ZC features the ROG Gaming Center, which is a dashboard that lets gamers launch ROG applications and access the settings menu. It works with integrated applications including ROG GameFirst IV, XSplit Gamecaster, and Asus Splendid visual technology.

Asus claims that the ROG Strix GL702ZC's backlit keyboard has an anti-ghosting technology that ensures keystrokes are correctly interpreted, "even when 30 keys are pressed simultaneously."

In terms of connectivity, the laptop has Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C, USB 3.0, HDMI 2.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, and more. When it comes to dimensions, the Asus ROG Strix GL702ZC measures 415x280x340mmand weighs 3.2kg (with battery).

It has been over a year since AMD launched its Ryzen 7 CPUs, turning the consumer desktop PC market on its head with the first affordable, mainstream octa-core processors.

Commenting on the announcement, Arnold Su, National Business Development Manager (PC and Gaming), Asus India said, "ROG Strix GL702ZC with AMD Ryzen changes the gaming hardware dynamic. We're excited to partner with AMD, to bring together the world first and most powerful 8 Core AMD based gaming machine for smooth and shutter free gaming experience."
