Asus releases a MWC teaser video, promises 'metallic miracle'

Mobile World Congress (MWC) is just round the corner and all smartphone makers are gearing up to show their latest devices at the event. Taiwanese firm Asus too is gearing up to make some buzz around its announcements at MWC.

The company has released a 28 seconds teaser video that talks about 'ultimate craftsmanship' and 'metallic miracle'. The video opens with an enormous alien spacecraft flying over the cramped streets of Barcelona. The shiny spacecraft then lands on to yet-to-be completed Sagrada Familia church and the words "Ultimate craftsmanship. Today" flash on the screen. This is followed by the message at the end that reads, "Join ASUS to embrace the metallic miracle."

The video seems to be very vague in terms of what product Asus might be launching at the event. Also we are not able to make out why the video has so many camera jerks.

As per past reports, it is expected that Asus may be launching an upgraded version of the PadFone 2 at the MWC. Additionally, it is being touted that the Taiwanese manufacturer may launch smartphones with larger displays. However, there are no concrete details in regards to the specification of these devices but analysts are pegging that we will be able to see full-HD smartphones running on Android Jelly Bean and a quad-core S4 processor from Asus's stable.

Grapevine also has it that Asus is all set to launch 7-inch tablet running on Intel Atom Z2420 processor at this event. This tablet tipped to be christened FonePad and is likely to run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is expected that device will support a display resolution of 1280X800 IPS touch screen and have a 4,270mAh battery.

As per news reports in The Wall Street Journal, there are chances that we might see Asus-branded Windows 8 device, based on the Padfone concept in Barcelona. It comes as a surprise that the company is planning to develop Padfone based on Windows 8 rather than Windows Phone 8.
