The smartphone is now available from company's online store; though it's worth noting that the smartphone is available with payment options via credit card and debit card, while cash on delivery option for consumers are not available.
Notably, the Gionee CTRL V5 is the successor to the CTRL V4 launched in June last year.
The CTRL V5 is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby support. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and features a 4.7-inch (540x960 pixels) qHD IPS display.
The CTRL V5 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582V) processor with a Mali 400 GPU, and 1GB of RAM. The CTRL V5 comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD (up to 32GB).
It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, the Gionee CTRL V5 includes 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPS and Bluetooth.
The smartphone packs an 1800mAh battery, which according to the official listing, delivers up to 14.5 hours of talk time and up to 324 hours of standby time on 2G network. The CTRL V5 measures 134.5x67.7x8.07mm and is currently available in Black colour. The smartphone weighs 103.5 grams.
Earlier this month, Gionee announced the official availability of its Elife E7 Mini smartphone for the Indian market. The smartphone went official at Rs. 18,999.
The Gionee Elife E7 Mini runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the company's custom Amigo 2.0 UI layer on top, much like the elder sibling, the Gionee Elife E7. The Gionee Elife E7 is a single SIM device, but the mini-variant supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality.
